Carne Asada Bake

If you have picked up lunch or a snack at your local Costco Food Court recently, you may have seen a new item on their menu.  Well, not so new I suppose, because I hear that it hit the menu back in June.  Anyway, the new item is their Carne Asada Bake.  It is a croissant-like roll stuffed with beef, green peppers, onions, guacamole and pico de gallo.

The Carne Asada Bake looked interesting enough and so I thought I would give it a try.  I waited my turn in line, then ordered it.  I was told there would be a ten minute wait, that's how popular it was. I got my Carne Asada Bake and sat down to enjoy it.

Only I didn't enjoy it.  Not one bit.  The beef was boring and not very flavorful.  The guacamole and peppers made the beef look green and unappetizing.  Also, I do not like my guacamole or pico de gallo heated up.  I struggled my way through half of it, washed down with lots of lemonade.  Nothing helped make it any more palatable.  Even though I try never to waste food, I had to throw the rest of it away.

So save yourself $3.99 and 740 calories and go with their Chicken Cesar Salad with dressing on the side instead.
